Wasn't there some sort of agreement to make febuary a drama-free month? HOOOOO BOY, that didn't work out that well, now did it? XDDD
First, the tracing drama. in case you missed the whole delicious, juicy parts, read [link] and especially [link]
Okay, I understand the policy and quite frankly, considering the bullshit admins have to put up with on this site I can understand the "slightly" unprofessional outburst of $chix0r, but when they're saying we're an art community, how comes that a vast majority of this community, namely the one that doesn't approve of tracing in any way, isn't heard?
I mean, if you're putting up a poll, why not put up the negative choices? I think some deviants are under the illusion that dA is actually a democracy, which really is NOT the case. They're gonna push ugly policies and decisions through, no matter how much people cry. After all, everyone is free to leave dA, if they don't like it.
However, she sounded like a hypocrite (intentionally or not) saying she wants the opinion of the users when there are only choices that work in her favor.
I'm not saying anything against the policy, because it was (albeit in a different form) here longer than I am, so I agreed to it, although I'm not happy about it.
With this whole crap, I think the admins alienated themselves from the deviants even further. I mean, some decisions just have to be made, I understand that, and you sure as hell can't please everyone here, but COME ON, you could've handled that decently.
My take on the tracing: It's a helpful tool to learn drawing in terms of the action of drawing, i.e. making a line on the paper, but with tracing you'll learn nothing about anatomy, nothing about composition and it'll sure as hell won't school your creativity.
So tracing's not going to be banned, sure enough, I can accept that, however, would it be so hard to not encourage tracing? Auto-forcing it into scraps and disabling faving? It would kill off the incentive to do it for the popularity, which was the major point of the screaming mob.
Seriously, upper class guys, I'd still love this site (mainly because it doesn't affect me much, it only bothers me a bit) no matter what you do, but would it be that hard to take a step into our general direction?
next: PHISHING? ON MY DA?!?! NO WAI
well, chyeah wai.
So the phishers finally realized that deviantART is kinda part of this so called web 2.0 and a wonderful place for frauds. I haven't heard of anything bad happening yet, but I guess this is a perfect wake up slap for people to not click every shit in the interwebs and learn some common sense (mainly, that there isn't a page that'll kick you out without a reason and that you should check the effing URL when typing in your passwords)
So aside from some spam it wasn't that bad.
Next: Valentine's Day
Well, I didn't keep up my tradition to make a little love song like the last years... too bad :C
That should be about it. I'm finally done with all my finals (though not THAT successful), so I guess I'll be a tiny bit more active than in the last few weeks.
Dramallamas aside, I hope to have some more fun here with ya'll 8D
see ya

Think your life sucks? A man was nailed through his hands and feet onto a tree. Before that he was whipped and wore a crown of thorns. He committed no crime, but his blood was used to pay for our sins. His name was Jesus Christ.
